Frequently Asked Question

Due to the large number of requests we receive, processing of your questions or orders may take several days. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

What does the test measure, what does it mean?

The Urine Balance Test aims at detecting alterations of the Th1/Th2 balance. Modulation of the Th1/Th2 balance may affect the susceptibility to, or the outcome of infections, allergic diseases, auto-immunity, cancer and other deleterious conditions. The UBT test may detect disturbances of this delicate equilibrium in time in order to restore balance whenever required and before irreversible conditions are developing.

Is this kit recognized as a diagnostic kit?

NO. We are in the process of getting accreditation (CE mark) but this will take several months. Meanwhile, due to the strong need expressed by the patient community, we decided to make it available as a "research use only".

Can medications/supplementations affect the result?

We have not yet completed all studies to find out the effects of medications on the test result. Since gut microflora is a major factor determining H2S production, it is very likely that antibiotic use, or concentrated probiotic consumption (but not the basic probiotics found in some dairy products), will have an effect on the test result. We have not yet studied the effect of pregnancy on the test result, but it is unlikely to affect the outcome of the test.

However, we certainly do not recommend that you stop a treatment which was prescribed by a health care provider. Just be aware that it may affect the test result, or wait until your treatment is finished before taking the test. How many analyses can I do with one kit?

Each kit allows to do one analysis

What is the stability of the kit?

We will ship the kit at ambient temperature. Once it arrives, use it within a couple of days. For longer periods store it at 2-8°C (fridge), protected from light. In the fridge the kit will be stable for one month. The kit is stable at -18°C protected from light until its expiry date, which is 6 months after the purchase.

What are the next steps if I am positive?

The test is a first step in the characterization of your condition. Other more specific diagnostic tests can then be performed, that will lead to the definition of your treatment by a health care professional. Because the test is not yet officially approved we cannot make any claim regarding its medical interpretation. A health care practitioner (physician, dietician) will advise you on the next analysis that should be performed.

How can I order the kit, how do I pay?
